Elizabeth Brown, MA LPC/Owner

I believe in the power of the human spirit to heal and mend the broken parts of itself just like this miraculous sunflower. This sunflower was a 3rd grade school project that was brought home, quickly forgotten, and then left to wither.

Curious, I decided to see what would happen if I transferred the withered sunflower into a garden bed full of nutrient, rich soil. I propped up the limp stem with a rock, so it wouldn’t dissolve into the soil. Water and sunshine flowed in abundance and were desperately absorbed by the sunflower.

Amazingly, the sunflower began to grow! But not vertical like the other sunflowers. Because of it’s past condition, the sunflower didn’t have the foundational strength to grow vertically. In order to survive, the sunflower adapted and grew parallel to the earth.

I watched in amazement as the sunflower stem continued to burst forth horizontally, strengthening to eventually produce sunflowers that grew vertically. With hope, support, and nurturing, the sunflower did what it was made to do, even after being wilted and almost dead. It just needed a safe, nurturing environment to heal and grow.

  • I love nature and helping people grow! I am passionate about play therapy and think both kids and adults benefit greatly from healthy play. I also love to supervise and help train new therapists.

    EDUCATION:

I graduated from Eastern University in 2003 with a BS in psychology and a Master’s degree in clinical and community counseling psychology in 2007. I have been a therapist for over 18 years.

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

After graduation, I worked in various clinical settings at KidsPeace. I started as a therapeutic staff support for children with autism and then transitioned to offering mobile therapy in homes of families with children with autism. In those early years, I learned a lot about behavior analysis and how to apply behavior modification techniques to target desired behavior. I also worked as an outpatient therapist at KidsPeace and completed three years as a residential therapist working with clients who had intellectual disabilities, trauma, and aggressive behavior.

In 2015, I resigned from KidsPeace to join a private practice in Coopersburg, PA. I provided outpatient therapy at Wings of Change Counseling from 2015 to 2025. While at Wings of Change Counseling, I worked with children, teens, and adults to help them heal and overcome their challenges.

In 2020, I became an adjunct professor for Chestnut Hill school of graduate studies at the DeSales Campus. I currently teach Play Therapy.

When I am not working or teaching, I love to cheer on the EAGLES, garden, take nature walks, bike, and make enjoyable memories with my family especially if it involves singing or dancing!
